What's new in this version (3.2):
To make it better for your eye,
I have improved this app's UI.
The user interface has been improved in version 3.2.
a) The frequently used command buttons are always on the screen now (no need to press the menu button on the device on every step!)
b) The font of goal/step descriptions in the lists and the height of each row have been increased which makes it easier to read and to select goals and steps for editing.
c) The prompts
This app helps you to track and maintain the list of goals in your life along with steps toward reaching each goal.
This not a to-do list application! It's not designed for managing your everyday chores or work schedule. Even though it allows you to conveniently schedule alerts to remind you about the important goals in your life, it doesn't emphasize calendar planning. The emphasis of this program is on the list of long-lasting things that are important to you. Many of them don't have a target completion date due to their nature, such as perfecting your skills in snowboarding, in sailing, in guitar or piano playing, you name it. This app helps you to keep the list of goals' descriptions in a simple linear list (no matter how long it is) that you can easily scroll up and down for quick review. A simple tap on each goal opens its description for editing its text, its current status (optional) and, optionally, self-grading. You can setup a date/time for automatic reminding about this goal. You can touch the "Steps" button to create and maintain the list of steps toward the selected goal. There are four basic screens: "The list of goals" -> "The details of the single selected goal" -> "The list of steps toward the selected goal" -> "The details of the selected step with optional status and self-grading of the selected step". That's all folks! The physical Return button on your mobile phone or the programmed "Back" button returns you to the previous screen. The physical Menu button is always available to help you to easily navigate through this app. It's a real no-brainer in terms of understanding how it works and it is VERY easy to use. Simply turn your mobile phone to vertical or horizontal orientation to find a layout that is most suitable for your reading and typing.
For those of you who are interested in more advanced features of this app: you can save all the data that you have entered up to any point in a file with any desired name on the SD disk on your mobile phone; you can reset all the current data and start over from scratch and then save the new data under a different name; and, of course, you can restore data in this app from any of the files belonging to it that reside on your SD disk. You can also share these files with other people who have installed this app in their mobile phones. As a result, several people can maintain their life goals on one mobile phone! Read the simple operating instructions for these more advanced features on the web site: http://advancinginmath.appspot.com/YouAdvanceInLife/index.htm which has helpful tips and a short tutorial for the "You Advance in Life" application.

Great concept but easier in a task list
Excellent! I'm on track with my goals within 3 months.
Good app. It's easy to use and it helps to keep track of tasks.
Easier in a task list. No benefit here.

Wow. looks like a learn to program project supported by family and friends.
Does the basics
To j2ba: Starting with version 2.1, this app doesn't have end-user license agreement.
I never opened the app, the end-user agreement was a bit weird. "I am responsible for any suffering the Author might have as a result of my usage"?
The new user interface in 2.0 is very intuitive. Good work!
