Description
The original and most highly rated plane tracking app.
Our Plane Finder apps have been featured on Gizmodo, CNN, GMA, Sunday Times, Mail on Sunday, CNET, GQ Magazine and many more.
Don’t take our word for it – check out our ratings and the wide range of positive press we’ve had across the world.
Plane Finder provides near real time “virtual radar” air traffic radar maps. It’s easy to use and is an amazing app for anyone interested in aviation, planes, flights or air traffic control. It’s also great if you simply want to know what’s up there or want to see your friends and family in the air.
Features include:
Live moving planes
Flight path contrails
Search by flight number
Beautifully detailed aircraft illustrations
Flight information such as - flight number, route, altitude, speed, plane type, airline, registration number
Technical information such as – squawk codes, ICAO/IATA codes, ADS Hexcode, heading
Plane Finder works by picking up ADS-B plane feeds used by all commercial planes to transmit their name, position, destination and lots more. This technology is actually faster than radar and is used in some places for air traffic control and navigation.
Our global coverage is unrivalled and expanding all of the time, please check www.planefinder.net regularly for current coverage.
Pinkfroot are committed to customer service and continually improve our Plane Finder apps based on feedback. Follow us on twitter @pinkfroot, and join our online community at www.pinkfroot.com If you have any questions please email support@pinkfroot.com and we’ll be happy to help.
Our companion App - Ship Finder– is highly rated and enjoyed by both professionals and anyone with an interest in planes and ships.
Note: ADS-B is not currently used by all US airlines, however this is also expanding all of the time.

Buggy. Force closes a lot. Planes all disappear sometimes after viewing details. Needs quite a bit of polishing for 5 stars. Same as Ship Finder.

I am just north of DFW with about a dozen planes overhead. On this app only two Continental ships show 40 miles south. Junk.
