What's new in this version (2.79):
Next version will focus on reporting and Scia export
* Shows reaction forces in global coordinates by default
* Added first time wizzard
* Now simple to rotate beams or a selection of beams
* Fixed FC when adding custom profiles
* Improved snap points
* Added Wobbly effect
* Added simple calculator for easier data input
* Added snap points
* Added dxf import (make sure you add an application/dxf mime type in your file browser!)
Analyze the force distribution, deflections and tensions in 2D structures.
This is a user friendly and feature rich app based on the Finite Element Method (FEM analysis). It is especially useful for civil engineers, mechanical engineers, architects and students.
You may input and edit beams, forces, supports etc both graphically and textually. The calculations are performed transparently in the background without disturbing your work.
Obviously this will not replace your desktop software, but it is helpfull in situations you need a quick solver for simple cases on the go.
Main features are:
* Moment, Shear, Stress, Deflection, Reaction forces and Unity checks
*F, T and q (rectangular and triangular) loads
*Fixed and hinge connections at beam ends
*M, N, V, ux, uz, utot, phi, sigma and unity checks output
*Fixed, hinge and roller supports in any direction
*Load cases and load combinations, including safety factors
*Profile groups; each group can have its own color
*Import any steel profile or general section from our free Engineering Libraries (EU, UK, AU, US & CA profiles)
*Import dxf files
*Export to our Concrete Design and Steel Design apps
*Export to picture, .html or Word .doc document
*Scale entire structure
*Automatic dimension lines (Autocad look)
*Element and node numbers
*Both graphical and textual edit modes
*Metric & Imperial units
*Multitouch zoom (pinch zooming)
*Many options for showing/hiding items
*Options to set almost all colors in the app
*Dark and light theme

It always says it is app2sd but the option is greyed out when I go to move it.
Utterly brilliant tool for quick calcs. Wish I had this as a student!
Excellent info! My 2.2 Froyo Droid doesn't see option to move to SD card. Would also like to see additional shapes: angle, channel, round, etc

Every engineer or engineering student should have this app.!
Not working with the new update. Force close when trying to launch. Samsung Moment android 2.1 other wise used to be an Amazon app
Would be awesome if it included the option for editing the sections ; Should have included IS sections
Awesome app!! Great way to verify my homework!
Don't do a lot of beam calcs, but when I do I like to let a computer do it for me. Nice app.
