What's new in this version (1.0 Beta):
- if you walk to another departure station, the app will automatically seek for a matching connection
- navigation after spontaneous entry has been improved
Smart-Way is a mobile Public Transport navigation system for smartphones, running in the region of Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe (DVB). This beta version is limited available to 31 December 2012.
The free app for bus, train and tram offers the right connection without any knowledge of the place an navigates through public transport in real-time. After entering the destination address Smart-Way guides the passenger to the nearest bus stop and informs whether and where he needs to board or to change, and with which means of transport he will reach his destination. In this case Smart-Way offers several optional connections. The calculated routes will be displayed, including all stops, changes, means of transportation, directions, departure and arrival times clearly arranged in a map. The user is free to pause the tour at any time, change the mode of transport or even change the destination.
The system provides information about upcoming changes, maps showing the stops in vicinity or failures concerning the selected connection.
Anyone boarding spontaneously, can start the navigation "on the go". Commuters and locals can switch to alternatives to avoid delays or disruptions and tourists will find the shortest route to the hotel or a sight by using Smart-Way – true to the slogan “Never get lost in Public Transport in Dresden!”
