What's new in this version (1.3):
This update has a redesigned timer which improves performance and accuracy.
NOTE: Make sure to re-enter your destination email after the update because the database which stores it has a new location. Your previous entry needs to be repeated.
This will not be necessary for most future updates, but this version has a lot of internal changes (even though the user screen interface is almost unchanged).
This is a powerful tracking app which sends, at preset intervals, email messages containing the location of the phone.
The emails have a link which opens Google Maps with an icon marking the location.
This app has many possible uses, amongst them pet dog tracking.
You could buy a cheap Android phone for your dog and attach the phone to their vest. This will track their location if they run off which makes it easier to locate them.
Maybe you would like to instead track your own movements on a wilderness hike, so that a friend would know where to rescue you if you got lost or injured. If you happened to drop your phone in the woods somewhere, this app would also show you where to find it.
Or perhaps you might want to use the app to keep track of another person; a child or elderly relative.
Remember to first set the chosen target email address using Setup in the app. Until you do, the app will not run. But at least this email setup has only to be done once, and thereafter the app will remember it on subsequent uses.
The Settings>Location>Use GPS Satellites setting is necessary for accurate tracking. After you turn on the satellite connection, it takes a couple of minutes to establish a stable connection. It prefers a clear view of the sky when first connecting to the satellites.
The Use GPS Satellite Location drains more battery power, and should be turned off again after you are done using the tracking app (unless you require the GPS enhanced accuracy for other apps).
