What's new in this version (1.1):
- added file/directory chooser
- support for 8-bit ASCII (vCard default charset), not just 7-bit US-ASCII
- several bug and compatibility fixes
Import Contacts is an application to help you import your contacts directly to your Android device without the need to upload them to Google first. Contacts (vCard “.vcf” files) are imported from your SD card directly in to the phones contact list.
It is free software, available under the GPLv3.

Worked pretty well although I had to clean my vcf input file! Hopefully it knows how to figure out empty rows and fields.
Allowed me to load a corrupted vcf file and just skip the bad entries. Awesome!!
It did it in the end. Make sure you unplug the cable. And it seems to abort when the screen dims on motorola defy. Got there after a few gos. Thanks.
Didn't work. Plz fix dev.. i respect any dev cause creating apps is ALOT of work, and they r fun to try!! Go Android!!!!!!!!
Imported contacts were incomplete. Used the import method on phone instead. Eris 2.1
Would be perfect if it supported more encodings, like ISO-8859-2. I had to manually modify all VCFs using this encoding in order to import them.
Dang location does not exist hmmm errors out
Keep failing. Tried everything their site recommends no luck
Didn't work for me. Complained of parsing error for every contact it tried to import. Uninstalled.
